TCDSS: August 24th TAA Follow Up

The following information is intended for campuses and districts that have been identified as Improvement Required (IR), Formerly IR, and/or priority. The structure of this page is similar to that of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) To the Administrator Addressed (TAA) released on 8/24/2016 and will provide additional information about campus intervention requirements and the role the Texas Center for District and School Support (TCDSS) will play in supporting campuses, districts, and charter schools.

TCDSS collaborates with TEA and the twenty regional education service centers (ESCs) to provide statewide technical assistance services to campuses that have been identified for interventions through the state and federal accountability systems. The services that TCDSS provides include face-to-face trainings, online resources aligned to the TAIS framework, and dedicated staff called support specialists who are available to provide guidance and address district and campus questions and concerns.

*Please check back regularly for the latest updates regarding intervention requirements and resources.

Campus Interventions and Requirements

Campus intervention Team (CIT) and Campus Leadership Team (CLT) will collaboratively engage in the TAIS continuous improvement process. The TAIS continuous improvement process is an ongoing process that entails the following actions:

  • Conducting a thorough Data Analysis to identify trends and patterns that point to problem areas
  • Conducting a Needs Assessment to identify the root causes of the problems identified through the data analysis
  • Engaging in an Improvement Planning process to develop a targeted improvement plan that addresses the area(s) that contributed to low-performance for the campus
  • Implementing and Monitoring the targeted improvement plan and making ongoing adjustments to the plan as needed
